National Grandparents Day is a holiday which is celebrated in the United States on 1st Sunday of the september month since 1978. Marian McQuade of Oak Hill, West Virginia has been recognized nationally by the United States Senate as the founder of national grandparents day. 



Her Idea was to educate youth about the contribution of seniors to the history. In the United Kingdom, this day has been celebrated on the 1st Sunday of October since 2008.
